“Thank you Angela for how you are helping me to be set free from those beliefs, habits, ways of thinking and feeling that cause me pain and don’t serve my highest good. One in particular is the concept of bringing into myself those feelings I experience when I am in strife with another. When my interaction with another has hurt, anger, resentment, etc., you advised me to ask myself what it is in myself the other person’s behavior is bringing up in me about me. In doing this, I reflect on what I am feeling about me as a result of the feelings brought up by the other person. As an example, if I feel someone’s behavior is not respectful of me and I become hurt or angry, that’s a clue to me to bring it in and see that I feel I am a person who deserves and appreciates and needs to be respected. So I ask in that situation am I respecting myself, how can I respect myself, how can I nurture me and appreciate the learning about me this person’s behavior is reflecting to me? So, now instead of getting stuck in what the other is doing, how upset I am with them and their behavior, I use the opportunity to see how I feel about myself and how I can self-care, which is my soul’s journey. I allow the other person their own journey and opportunity to learn something about themselves if that is what they choose. When i stop, breathe, take time to bring it in, own what’s mine, let go of what’s someone else’s, then I can bring love to myself.
